Bath & Body Works Inc (BBWI) Dividends

GoodMoat Analysis

Based on data as of March 26, 2026

Bath & Body Works offers a high dividend yield of 4.48%, which is attractive for income investors. The dividend appears sustainable based on a low payout ratio and exceptionally strong free cash flow generation. However, the company's dividend growth history is limited, and investors should weigh this against the stock's cyclical nature.

Read full analysis
For an income-focused value investor, Bath & Body Works presents a compelling but nuanced dividend profile. The current yield of 4.48% is significantly higher than the broader market and the consumer cyclical sector average, offering an attractive immediate income stream. The dividend's sustainability is supported by two key quality indicators from the framework: a robust free cash flow yield of 23.2% and a conservative payout ratio. Based on the provided EPS of $3.11 and the annual dividend implied by the yield and price, the payout ratio is well below 50%, indicating ample coverage. This strong FCF conversion, which far exceeds the framework's >10-15% FCF margin threshold, provides a substantial cushion for the dividend. The primary caution is the company's relatively short dividend history and lack of established growth, as it reinstated its payout in 2023. While the balance sheet strength cannot be fully assessed without the Debt/Equity ratio, the powerful FCF generation suggests the company can service its obligations and fund the dividend. The valuation, with a P/E of 5.7, suggests the market has priced in significant cyclical risk, which is the core trade-off for the high yield. Analysis based on data as of 2024-05-15.
