GoodMoat Analysis

Based on data as of March 26, 2026

The stock appears deeply undervalued relative to the GoodMoat target, offering a substantial margin of safety. Its low P/E multiple is significantly below typical sector valuations, suggesting a potential discount. However, this low valuation must be weighed against the business's quality and moat, which are not addressed in this valuation-only snapshot.

Based on the provided data, Bath & Body Works is trading at a price of $18.19, which is 46% below the GoodMoat target of $33.72. According to the GoodMoat Valuation Assessment framework, this implies a margin of safety of over 40%, which falls into the 'Deeply Undervalued' band. This is a strong initial signal for a value investor. The stock's forward P/E of 5.7 is exceptionally low, especially for the consumer cyclical sector where average P/Es are often in the mid-teens or higher. This multiple suggests the market is pricing in significant pessimism. Furthermore, the free cash flow yield of 23.2% is very high, indicating the company generates substantial cash relative to its market value. While these valuation metrics are highly favourable, Section 6 of the framework requires that this cheap valuation be integrated with an analysis of the company's moat and quality. A low P/E can be a value trap if the business is in permanent decline. The assessment of whether this price is attractive therefore depends on the underlying business strength, which is not covered by this data set. The current price implies a significant discount, but the final investment decision hinges on passing the 'Moat & Quality Gate' first.
